Seeking Career Guidance?

In the rush of the 21st Century and ever-changing economies, it’s easy to climb a career ladder and never find the time to pause and ask if it’s the right one. It can be frightening to discover that your ‘dream job’ is actually a career nightmare. You feel ‘stuck’ and fearing letting go, you cling on to a job that’s ultimately unsatisfying. It can affect your health, your happiness, your relationships, your family, everybody. At CEC we will work with you to help you identify your strengths, your true ambitions, your goals and your values. We will help prepare you for that career transition into a job that is fulfilling and satisfying and rekindle the fires of your self-belief and ambition.
Working with your CEC consultant you will
• Gather details on the past and present that impact your career choice.
• Analyse data to determine patterns, themes and recurring interests.
• Talents which you may have utilised in work/life.
• Abilities, skills: what can you currently do?
• Preferences: what do you want to do? Where? For whom?
• Test the viability of contemplated career action steps.
• Prioritise goals and actions with achievement dates.

The Career Planning and assessment process is separated into two parts

Part 1 deals with the steps leading up to and including developing, reviewing and modifying your career objective. Your completion of the exercises in this part is accompanied by a series of one-to-one consultation sessions with CEC to review steps taken so far.

Part 2 deals with developing your action plan, based on the work already done. The work you’ll do in this part is followed by a further session with your CEC consultant to complete the development of your action plan.

Note: Success and acceptance of responsibility for one’s choices and actions are inseparably linked. While CEC’s role includes coaching you in the skills of the career transition process and providing an objective “sounding board,” it specifically excludes influencing your ultimate career choices. This module is offered by CEC only on the basis that you accept full responsibility for your career decisions and their outcomes. By proceeding with it, you signify your agreement to this condition.
